Premier Health Partners Announces Epic EHR Implementation at Select Practices

State-of-the-art Epic electronic health record system will enhance clinical services and patient experience

On October 24, 2026, Premier Health Partners (PHP) began transitioning select practices to Epic, a modern electronic health record (EHR) platform designed to improve care coordination, streamline clinical workflows and enhance the patient experience. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration with Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMC), Kaleida Health and the University at Buffalo to modernize healthcare technology across Western New York.

The Epic platform brings patient information together in a unified, integrated electronic health record, giving clinicians improved access to relevant medical information and supporting smoother transitions of care. Through this collaboration, participating PHP practices can benefit from enhanced digital tools and improved coordination with other healthcare providers using Epic.

The implementation represents an important step in PHP’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, coordinated care and improving the patient experience through modern healthcare technology. While select PHP practices have transitioned to Epic, other PHP practices will continue using their existing electronic health record systems.

Epic is widely used by hospitals and healthcare organizations across the country. Its capabilities support communication among care teams, access to patient information and more efficient clinical workflows. The platform also offers familiarity for many physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who have trained or worked with Epic in academic and clinical settings.

As part of this transition, patients receiving care at participating PHP practices are encouraged to use MyChart, Epic’s patient portal. MyChart provides a convenient way to view test results, schedule appointments, pay bills, request prescription refills, check in for appointments, message care teams and manage care for family members.

Patients can access the MyChart portal and create an account by visiting: https://premierhp.com/patients/mychart/

Key benefits of the Epic EHR platform include:

  • Unified access to patient information across participating care settings.
  • Improved communication and coordination among care teams.
  • Enhanced patient safety through standardized documentation and reduced duplication.
  • Streamlined clinical workflows that help clinicians focus more time on patients.
  • Modern digital tools that support continued innovation and growth.
  • An enhanced patient experience through convenient online access to healthcare information and services.

Premier Health Partners is proud to collaborate with ECMC, Kaleida Health and the University at Buffalo as part of this important advancement in healthcare technology. Through this partnership and the implementation of Epic at select PHP practices, the organizations are working toward more connected care, improved clinical coordination and a stronger healthcare system for the Western New York community.
